Childhood Innocence?

I'm sitting on the couch this afternoon with the twins watch Harry Potter while Pickle naps. It's a wonderful thing. The kids think the magic and wonder of the Harry Potter films is simply the most amazing thing in the world. It sparks a new line of philosophical conversation with them as to whether magic really exists. At 5 years old, they understand that what they are seeing is simply a movie and cannot possibly be real; which makes me wonder, where has the childhood innocence gone?
Are we so jaded as a society that our children pick up on it all too soon? If at 5 years old, they don't believe in magic, will they continue to believe in Santa, the Easter Bunny or Tooth Fairy for much longer?
