Cursing Clover

For years, Mr. Twingle and I have prided ourselves on our well-kept lawn.  We fertilize with the appropriate formula in Spring, Summer and Fall.  We thatch, we aerate, we seed, we weed.  But this year, our beautiful lawn has been taken over by clover.  I don't just mean a little patch here and there.  Our whole front lawn is literally covered in little white flowers.  While the smell is sweet and succulent it does nothing for visual appeal.  In fact, it's driving me insane.

We have tried garden centre "creeping weed" killers, we've spoken with the Weed Man who cannot provide a guarantee that they can get rid of either.  I think we've come to the realization that we may just have to rip up all the grass and lay new sod.

That is, unless anyone out there has any tried and true solutions to rid your lawn of clover?
