Fashionista or Fashion Flop?

I LOVE to shop.  There is nothing that makes me happier than retail therapy.  It's the one fail proof way to lift my spirits when I'm down.  Even if I don't have money to spend, a trip to the mall, window shopping, will do the trick.

I love going into stores to see what trends are coming out this season.  With Back to School upon us, Fall clothing lines are out and frankly, Fall fashions are my FAVOURITE!

One may ask if I consider myself a Fashionista?

I would love to be able to answer Yes, without a shadow of a doubt.  Unfortunately, that's not the case.  As a plus-sized gal, I'm lucky to find clothes that don't look like moo-moos let alone fashionable.  Of course, I do need to think about functionality as well.  As a stay-at-home-mom to 3, one of whom is still in diapers, I need to dress comfortably.  Chasing around twins + 1 can be messy, sweaty and grimy.  I don't think a Chanel Suit would hold up well to the task; and heaven forbid the baby spit up on it!  I do try my best to make things seem more fashionable though.  A cool necklace, handbag or pair of shoes will often aid in making me look less frumpy and mom-like.

Oh and did I mention I LOVE shoes and handbags?

I was overjoyed when Mr. T brought me home Prada from Italy last year for Christmas!  Yes, it's a knock off; but, it's still Prada from Italy :D  Some day, I hope to have the real deal.  That and a pair of Manolo Blahnik's, that I'll never take off.

So while I'm a fashionista at heart, I'm afraid I'm not.  I wear my "mom uniform" proudly and dream of designer pant suits, shoes and handbags.

  1. It's more economical to admire fashionable and expensive clothes from afar, it's okay. :)

I'm all about dressing for comfort - I'd stay in sweats all day if I could!

  2. Do you ever think about renting your high end fashion items? I know they do that - I can't decide if it would really be worth it. (I'd probably ruin them.)

  3. I've checked out "Bag, Borrow or Steal" but they don't rent to Canadians :(
