My Take on Disney Live! Mickey's Rockin' Road Show

Those of you that frequently read my blog, will know that I was taking my kids to see Disney Live! Mickey's Rockin' Road show; and was super excited about doing so!

Feld Entertainment provided me with tickets to see the show and we attended yesterday's 2:00 pm show at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton.  We had wonderful seats about 10 rows back, centre stage; but, not on the floor so we could actually see everything.  We were a little late arriving so we didn't catch any of the pre-show sing-a-long; but, we didn't have to wait long for the show to begin either; which is a blessing when you have a one-year-old with you.

The show began with Sheldon, one of the live performers, coming out to do brief introductions and get the audience even more excited, I honestly didn't think that was even possible!  I was also pleasantly surprised that it "seemed" Sheldon was singing live, and not to track since Mickey and his friends were (to ensure little ones believe in the magic, of course!).

Even as an adult I found the show to have lots of energy and found myself singing along to classics, like Cinderella's "So this is Love".  I especially got a kick out of the audience participation factor.  Not only did they include kids; but they had parents involved too...affording me a good laugh.

Overall, I found the pace of the performance just right.  The scenes were just long enough to captivate the audience; but, not too long to loose their attention.  There was a brief intermission, perfectly placed, to allow families to visit the washrooms if necessary.  The show ran for about 1.75 hours and finished with a "big bang"!

I would totally recommend taking the family to see this wonderful show.  There is nothing better than seeing your kids light up with the joy and wonder that Disney Live! provides.
