50 Shades of...

Like many other women, I hopped on the 50 Shades of Grey bandwagon.  I figured it couldn't hurt since I have 50 books to read for my #50BookPledge!

50 Shades of Grey was my 17th book; and I'm not really sure what my feelings toward the book is.  A lot of the book was based on BDSM; not really my thing.
The story line was good though.  It was fast paced and kept me reading.  I wanted/needed to find out more about how things were going to turn out.
I'm fairly good at predicting how stories will play out when I read a book; but, 50 Shades of Grey, was not one of those books.  The shocker ending, was just that, a shock.  I couldn't believe it ended that way and had to pick up book 2 of the 3 book series, 50 Shades Darker.

Book 2 wasn't quite as racy as book 1; but, it still kept me enraptured.  I had a hard time putting these books down.  I love the unexpected twist at the end of 50 Shades Darker and will read the third and final book of the series to see how it all plays out.

I took a short break from the 50 Shades series as I felt the endless sex scenes, on almost every page, were getting to be too much.  So book number 19 on my #50BookPledge was Insurgent by Veronica Roth.  I'll write more about that later!

All in all, I would recommend the 50 Shades series.  Though the writing isn't stellar and the story is, to quote Christian Grey himself, "50 Shades of fucked up", it was a good light read.

  1. I feel that this whole trilogy had the potential for greatness, but dropped the ball quite a few times.
